Qualifications/ Skills Required:
• Minimum 2nd Class First Mate Foreign Going
• Applicants with 1st Class Master Foreign Going are encouraged to apply

• Excellent oral and written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Applicants must be willing to work in Pasir Gudang

2. IT Database Administrator

Qualifications/ Skills Required:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, or Professional
Degree in Computer Science or any IT related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years solid experience as a database administrator
• Experience in Oracle 10g and above in a medium to large environment
• Sound knowledge in UNIX OS ie Solaris, AIX, HPUX, Linux, Windows Servers
etc
• Knowledge in 10g Apps, Oracle Financials, third-party Oracle tools is an
advantage
• Knowledge in other commercial databases ie DB2, MS SQL Server is an added
advantage
• Familiar with port and shipping/logistics business.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status
• Good command of written and spoken English and Malay
• Able to work long hours with less supervision.

Job Description:
The Database administrator shall involve directly with the ELMS covering the
following duties and responsibilities:

• Proactively monitor jobs in development, test, and production
environments, perform troubleshooting for those which have failed.
• Audit system by examining database management system error log, operating
system level event log, for system, application, and security related
issues.
• Create and keep current documentation for database management system,
database, and hardware, performance tuning configuration, security
configuration, and disaster recovery.
• Provide support related issues for development and test databases to
ensure availability.
• Provide test environments from production backups for systems level
testing of database patches and applications before being migrated to
production.
• Ensure tested database solutions meet production service level agreement
prior to deploying to production.
• Periodically test disaster recovery plan to ensure documentation is
accurate and current.
• Copy or restore production data to separate server for ad-hoc queries as
required when query will adversely affect service level agreements of
production server.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.
