Programme Title: DATA MINING OF HIDDEN PARAMETERS OF WATER QUALITY INDEX
FOR DRINKING WATER USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS & FUZZY LOGIC SYSTEMS.

Objects of Research:
1. Categorization methods of changing status and usability of surface water with regard to health hazards.
2. Data mining approach for discovering hidden parameters in water quality index using Fuzzy logic and Artificial Neural Networks.
3. Revision of Water quality index(WQI)by DOE of Malaysia and its Endorsement. Candidate should possess the necessary qualification for the respective course (M.Engg./ Ph.D) that they choose. Their previous study may be in the field of Civil Engineering / Environmental engineering / Water Resources engineering / Water Quality / Water Studies. Experience in Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Systems Engineering and Computer modelingwould be useful to this project.

Successful candidates will be provided stipend for 15 months from the start of their work and will be fixed at the time of interview. Further, they are also eligible to apply for Graduate Research Assistantship Scheme offered by IPS/ UM. Selection is based on first come first serve basis.
Preference will be given to Bumiputras who possesses necessary qualification for this post.
